Kitsuregawa, Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, was ruled by the Kitsuregawa Kubo Ashikaga clan, descendants of Takauji Ashikaga and descendants of the Koga Kubo from the Kamakura Kubo. During the Edo period, it held an important position as a guest daimyo of the Shogunate, and its history is glorious. In order to pass on this history to future generations, the Kitsuregawa Kubo Taiko was established in October 2000. Their activities celebrate local pride and contribute to the inheritance of tradition and culture.

喜連川公方太鼓の和太鼓体験は、まず団員の迫力ある演奏を聴き、その後実際に様々な太鼓を体験できます。大きな太鼓は直径1.5〜2メートルほどあり、数百万円もすると言われるほどの価値がありますが、この体験会では全ての太鼓を自由に叩くことができます。一人一人が多様な太鼓を順番に叩き、リズムを楽しむことができます。最後には皆でリズムを刻み、3拍子、3拍子、7拍子といったリズムを交互に演奏し、声を入れて気持ちの籠った演奏体験を共有します。参加者は楽しく充実した体験を通じて、和太鼓の魅力と伝統に触れることができます。

We offer an authentic tea ceremony experience in a traditional Japanese room. During the experience, you can learn the basics of tea ceremony under the guidance of Sensei Kyoko Karube. First, her teacher will make matcha tea for you, and you will watch her elegant movements using traditional tools such as a chasen and ladle. Afterwards, participants will also try their hand at making matcha tea under the guidance of her teacher. Through this experience, you will learn about the bitterness and aroma of matcha, as well as the steps and etiquette for making tea. Japanese sweets are also available, and you can pair them with matcha. Experiencers can get a glimpse of the depth of the tea ceremony while experiencing the spirit of the ceremony. 色被せガラスには、桜やバラ、アオサギ、藤の花などが美しく彫刻されたぐい呑や徳利、グラスやカップ、皿や鉢、花瓶やランプなどがあります。光の透過によって表情が変わる色被せガラスの美しさをぜひご覧ください。透明ガラスには、蝶や桜、鶴や天使などが刻まれたグラスやカップ、バラやマーガレットが美しい皿や鉢、花瓶や宝石箱などがあります。これらの製品は、大切な方への贈り物やテーブルコーディネートのアクセントに最適です。

At Glass Studio Assemble, which operates in Tochigi, staff members who are certified as instructors from the Japan Handicrafts Association produce and sell engraved glass products one by one. The workshop utilizes traditional techniques to create beautiful products such as colored glass and transparent glass.

Colored glass includes sake cups, sake bottles, glasses and cups, plates and pots, vases and lamps with beautiful carvings of cherry blossoms, roses, gray herons, wisteria, etc. Please take a look at the beauty of colored glass that changes its appearance depending on the light passing through it. Transparent glass includes glasses and cups engraved with butterflies, cherry blossoms, cranes, and angels, plates and pots with beautiful roses and marguerites, vases, and jewelry boxes. These products are perfect as gifts for loved ones or as accents to your table decor.

In addition, the glass workshop Assemble holds classes twice a month and hands-on workshops on sculptural glass.The workshop provides an environment where participants can express themselves freely under careful guidance. どんな体験ができますか？　What kind of experience can I have?

砂（sand）を吹き付け（blast）て金属やガラスを研磨するサンドブラスト体験を行います。

まずはガラスの素材やガラスに入れるデザインを選んで始まります。サンプルデザインから柄を選ぶか、自分のオリジナルデザインを提案することも可能です。次に、選んだデザインのシールをガラスに貼ります。貼られたシールをカッターで慎重にシールを切り取り、模様を残したい部分を剥がします。小学生低学年以下のお子様はシールを貼る作業に参加します。

その後、サンドブラスト機を使って彫刻を行います。圧縮空気で金剛砂をガラスに吹き付け、模様やデザインを彫り込みます。この作業は参加者が自ら行い、サンドブラスト機の中を窓越しに見ながら進めます。最後に残ったシールを剥がし、ガラスをきれいに磨いて完成です。この体験では、参加者が自分の手で作品を作り上げる過程を楽しむことができます。

You will experience sandblasting, which involves polishing metal and glass by blasting sand.

First, you start by choosing the glass material and the design you want to put on the glass. You can choose a pattern from sample designs or propose your own original design. Next, stick the sticker of your chosen design onto the glass. Carefully cut out the pasted sticker with a cutter and peel off the part where you want the pattern to remain. Children in the lower grades of elementary school and younger will participate in pasting stickers.

After that, engraving is done using a sandblasting machine. The diamond sand is blown onto the glass using compressed air to engrave patterns and designs. Participants perform this work themselves, looking inside the sandblasting machine through the window. Peel off the last remaining sticker and polish the glass to complete the process. In this experience, participants can enjoy the process of creating works with their own hands.
